4-Conductor Color Code
I use the common Seymour Duncan 4-conductor color code. If wired as a standard humbucker bare and green will go to ground, red and white will solder together and black will go to hot.
Modern 2-Conductor
With the modern 2-conductor leads black is the start of the coil and white is the finish. The bare wire is the cover/chassis ground. If wired like a traditional pickup black and bare will solder to ground and white will go to hot. Modern 2-conductor leads provide an isolated ground wire that makes phase and/or series parallel wiring possible.
